‘I can’t recommend him highly enough,’ says Steve Hodge of one Nottingham Forest player. 10/10

Steve Hodge has singled out Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper after two years in charge. In September 2021, the 43-year-old waltzed into the club and has already accomplished the inconceivable.

On and off the field, the head coach has been motivated. He has gotten into the football club’s spirit and has embraced tradition and expectation rather than being intimidated by it.

Cooper has led Nottingham Forest to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years. Not only that, but he kept the team there against all odds last season, ensuring survival on the last day of the season.

Hodge is a major Cooper admirer. He was asked to provide his opinion on the head coach following his anniversary, and he gave him a score of 10 for his work thus far.

“I never doubted that someone would hit this club at the right time and it’d click,” he said on the Shut Up and Show More Football program.

“He’s been able to bring together a lot of different players.” His debut came against Millwall. That was fine, but it was a sluggish development.

“I can’t say enough good things about him. I can’t say enough good things about him, and I can’t say enough good things about the owner. Steve Cooper, I give you a 10/10 after two years.”

Hodge issues his decision on Forest head coach Cooper.
You’d be hard pressed to find someone right now who doesn’t rate Cooper 10/10. He’s resurrected the entire football club, and he truly understands what Forest is all about.

The 43-year-old has performed admirably at City Ground. He continues to monitor steady progress. With that in mind, the Reds should be able to really get going this season.

Hodge is correct in his observations. On Radio Nottingham, the Forest-supporting commentator is a fan favorite. Indeed, seeing his goal celebrations live on television is always entertaining!

Cooper should be granted the Freedom of Nottingham in recognition of his contribution with Forest. The task for the head coach now is to make the next two years as successful as the previous two.
