Tottenham player suffers horror car crash as Mercedes smashes into bar
Destiny Udogie who is on loan from Spurs to Udinese was involved in a horror car crash which left an Italian bar with expensive damage – but luckily the defender was not injured in the accident
When a Tottenham player’s Mercedes collided with a bar, he was killed.
Destiny Udogie, 20, is on loan at Serie A club Udinese and caused havoc when he lost control of his Mercedes and crashed into an Udine bar. The horrifying incident occurred late at night, when the left-back ran inside the venue, leaving a trail of damage in his wake.
Udogie escaped the wreckage unharmed, and no additional injuries were reported, although the bar sustained thousands of pounds in damage, according to reports in The Sun. Images of the crash showed debris lying over the floor and chairs toppled over in the cordoned-off area.
The Italian-born star was breathalyzed by police following the incident, but the results of the test have not yet been revealed, it was added. Udogie’s accident comes just a day after his return to Tottenham this summer was confirmed by football guru Fabrizio Romano.
He initially joined Spurs from Udinese in August 2022 for around £15million, but he was shipped back to the Serie A side on loan. After signing for the LilyWhites, Udogie explained he couldn’t wait to play under the team’s former boss Antonio Conte in the “biggest league in the world.”
He said: “It’s a big honour for me to be here, with this big team, a big club with a big history… It’s an honour to play under a big coach like Antonio Conte. He knows football very well and I’m going to grow a lot.
