Leeds United are set to conduct their final interviews for the manager’s position next week as they narrow down their shortlist.

The Whites are still yet to get up and running in the summer window, and it’s largely because there have been bigger fish to fry for now.

A takeover from the San Francisco 49ers has been agreed, and up next for the club to arrange is the appointment of a new manager.

Who do Leeds want as their new manager?

The Telegraph are reporting that Daniel Farke is one of the leading contenders for the vacancy at Elland Road this month, having left Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season.

Farke, of course, has won the Championship title twice as Norwich City manager, and Leeds are aiming to bring someone in with the credentials needed to achieve likewise.

Early contenders for the job also included Scott Parker, who was sacked from two jobs in 22/23 in Bournemouth and Club Brugge, as well as West Brom’s Carlos Corberan. Steven Gerrard was interested in the role, but he looks set for a role in Saudi Arabia.

When will Leeds confirm their new manager?

The report also shares that the club are now in the process of heading towards their final shortlist of candidates ahead of next week.

“Leeds are assessing a number of candidates and plan to speak to the final contenders next week before making their decision.”

Despite not having a long-term sporting director in place, Leeds confirmed the three-month appointment of interim football advisor Nick Hammond to oversee the transfer window.

Who will be Leeds’ next manager?

Decision time.

The club need to be pressing on with these discussions now and coming to a final conclusion on who is going to be the next manager.

Farke looks to be the standout at the moment, with the noises around Corberan calming in the last week, but either would be a good move.

You would expect that with either of these two coaches, we would be set to make at least a push for a top-six finish, if not the top two.
