Jets get big boost ahead of big Chargers game The New York Jets get a much-needed boost ahead of their Week 9 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
SNY’s Connor Hughes revealed earlier on Twitter that Gang Green’s two offensive linemen no longer have injury designations and will “play” on Monday Night Football.
Laken Tomlinson has been dealing with a hamstring injury from the New York Giants all week and appears doubtful.
Joe Tippmann was injured in the Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Offensive line shuffle for Jets The Jets lost two starting offensive linemen for the Giants game.
Connor McGovern and Wes Schweitzer were placed on injured reserve with the hope of returning later in the season.
With Tippmann and Tomlinson in the air, it looks like the Jets could lose up to four starting mollies.
However, both will return to the lineup.
ESPN’s Rich Cimini projects the starting offensive line combination for the Jets in Week 9.
Mekhi Becton is on the left, Tomlinson is on the left, Tippmann is in the center, Max Mitchell is on the right and Billy Turner is on the right.

For more insurance in the trenches, Cimini expects the Jets to elevate offensive lineman Xavier Newman-Johnson from the practice squad.
He got some professional-catching experience for the first time in a Week 8 game against the Giants.
Some Jets injury concerns ahead of game against Chargers This is mostly good news for the Jets on the injury front, but there are a few things worth noting.
Wide receiver Allen Lazard appeared on Friday’s injury report with an ankle issue that forced him to participate in practice on a limited basis.
Every time a player gets injured at the weekend, it always increases your pre-match anxiety levels.
If they can’t go, the Jets will have to rely on a lot of youth and inexperience at the wide receiver position.
Cimini said a large number of reps will be split between Xavier Gipson, Irvin Charles and Jason Brownlee, in addition to Garrett Wilson and Randall Cobb.
The only two players ruled out on the final injury report were veteran offensive lineman Duane Brown and defensive lineman and special teams defender Chazz Surratt.
Brown’s 21-day practice period was just activated after going on injured reserve with a hip issue.
He is unlikely to make the transition from training to the starting lineup, but it appears his return is closer.
Throughout his NFL career, he has only played left-handed, so it will be interesting to see what the Jets coaching staff decides to do once he is fully healthy.
The message from the top of the organization has always been that they will play in the top 5.
Surratt is not a starter like Brown, but he has been a key player on special teams and a top reserve in the middle of the Jets’ defense.
