Miami Heat Injury Report Update: Will Jimmy Butler play against the Pacers?
Jimmy Butler has missed the last two games with a sprained right ankle, but the Heat will use him to end their losing streak at three. There’s a possibility that
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler, who has missed the past two games with a sprained right ankle, is in doubt for Thursday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers at Caseya Center.
It’s on the list.
Butler has missed four games this season, including the final two losses to the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks.
The Heat suffered their third straight loss in the first of two consecutive games (Thursday and Saturday) against the Pacers.
The Heat will likely make a decision on Butler’s status near 7:44 p.m.
However, this is not expected to be a long-term problem.
The Heat have both Jimmy Butler and Haywood Highsmith listed as questionable for Thursday’s home game against the Pacers.
In addition to Butler, Heywood Haisumti is also listed as questionable with a lower back contusion.
Highsmith missed Tuesday’s game against the Bucks after injuring his lower back after taking a hard hit in Brooklyn last weekend.
Since he became the starting power forward, the Heat are 9-3 in games he has played.
With Butler and Highsmith out against the Bucks, the Heat started Josh Richardson and Kevin Love at the forward positions.
Bam Adebayo (left hip contusion) and Duncan Robinson (right thumb sprain), who returned against the Bucks, are listed as likely players.
The Heat ruled three players out of Thursday’s game: Tyler Herro (right ankle sprain), R.J.
Hampton (right knee sprain) and Drew Smith (season-ending ACL sprain).
Herro was seen shooting after practice in Miami on Monday and is expected to return to action soon.
