Rutgers Football extends contracts of two assistant coaches

Deals for Rutgers Football’s personnel have been in the works during the winter, and they just got done.

Two longstanding assistant coaches, Bob Fraser and Andrew Aurich, have been extended by the Scarlet Knights through 2024, per an employment contract obtained by NJ Advance Media.

This offseason, Aurich—who is now the tight ends coach—becomes the fourth position coach to be extended. Alongside him now are defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiak, defensive line coach Marquise Watson, and coach Mark Ophrey of the cornerbacks.

This season, Aurich will make $325,000, and in 2024, $350,000. On Monday, he formally extended his contract to stay with the Scarlet Knights. Since Greg Schiano took over as director of the program in 2020, Aurich has been involved with it.

Bob Fraser, who is in his fourth year in Piscataway, has traveled much and spent a lot of time with Schiano. He had previously collaborated with Schiano at Ohio State and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although Fraser’s new contract lists him as a recruiting assistant, he has spent the last three years coaching linebackers and acting as Schiano’s senior advisor.
