Carlton forward is expected to go as agent shares updates on star Bulldogs pair

For most of the year, Carlton’s Zac Fisher has been linked with a move. After being rarely selected by the Blues, the 25-year-old could be on his way to a squad that will provide him with more consistency at the senior level.

Fisher has averaged 17 disposals per game while playing as a midfield forward throughout his career. Fisher played in every game in 2022, but only 12 in 2023. Despite his team’s long run to the finals, Fisher, who was born in York, did not play any of the three games.

Fisher averaged 29 disposals across seven VFL games. In a Round 10 win over Sydney, he had 40 disposals and one major.

Despite his Western Australian heritage, Fisher is more likely to join.

A Victorian competitor to the West Coast Eagles. Carlton has already made some off-season changes, re-signing ruckmen Tom De Koning and Jack Silvagni. Fisher has a contract with the Blues until 2025, but it’s clear that opportunity is more important to the former Carlton staple.Andrew McDougall, Fisher’s agent, spoke with AFL Trade Radio about his client.

“It is more of an opportunity piece for him if things do happen,” McDougall explained.

“A few clubs are interested in him.” He wants to see more midfield play, and a few clubs have expressed interest in what he can bring to their team.

“He returned to the team with Carlton and played half-back.” He also has the ability to play small forward. He wants to spend more time in

The centre of the field.

“Several clubs have discussed what he can bring to their squad. He would like to stay in Melbourne; that is his top priority. He’s content, he’s settled here, so we’ll see how the conversation progresses and how the week unfolds.”

Tim English’s Western Bulldogs contract expires at the end of 2024. With the 26-year-old earning his first All-Australian blazer, the Bulldogs will almost certainly do everything in their power to keep him.

McDougall, his agent, stated that the ruckman’s priority is to improve his game rather than making a decision about his future.

“He’s really comfortable, and he’s looking forward to a big pre-season,” McDougall said.

“Both he and ‘Naughts’ (Naughton) were very eager to get the club into the finals and will both be staying at the club next year.” They are determined to move the club forward next year.

“12 months is a long time in footy but at the same time, they’re just focusing on their preseason, having a bit of a holiday and then heading off.”

McDougall also clarified the situation surrounding Bulldogs’ key forward Aaron Naughton.

North Melbourne and Collingwood have shown an interest in the 195cm forward, who is under contract until the end of 2024. Regardless of rumours, Naughton will remain with the Bulldogs until 2024.

“I can unequivocally state that Aaron Naughton will not be moving this year.” “I understand teams doing their homework, but he is committed to the Dogs and will be there in 2024,” McDougall said in a statement.

The 2023 trading period will begin next Monday and last until Wednesday, October 18.
