After just 3 appearances for the Hatters, the Luton Town career of Harry Isted is over.
Unlike a previous occasion, where Luton released Harry and then re-signed him beofre a new started, due to a lack of goalkeeper coverage, this tie the severance is permanent.
As we reported yesterday – released-luton-player-joins-south-london-league-one-side – Isted has signed a two-year deal with Charlton Athletic.
Harry had been with the Hatters since 2017, during which time he never made a league appearance for the club, sxpending time on loan at:
• Chesham United
• Oxford City
• Wealdstone Town (3 spells)
• Barnsley
For somebody who only made the 3 appearances, all in cup competitions for the Hatters, Isted certainly made an impression among the support, as the following social media posts show:
Indeed, with Harry, seemingly, not rated by the coaching staff, a parting of the ways was best for all.
However, with the Hatters, apparently, as covered by us, not interested in signing Ethan Horvath in a permanent deal, the current situation is that our goalkeeping contingent consists of:
• James Shea
• Jack Walton
• Matt Macey
Sticking my head above the parapet, I’m not sure any of the above are good enough to be classified as a top-flight keeper, are you?
It looks like a move for a keeper could be a Luton Town priority.
