Frank Vatrano Used Breakout Season to Become Ducks’ MVP
Frank Vatrano’s play stood out for all the right reasons during the Anaheim Ducks’ otherwise poor season. There would be some growing pains during the 2023–24 campaign because it was positioned as a developmental phase. Though the Ducks have a deep pool of prospects, Vatrano’s play has made him the team’s most important player thus far this season.
In July 2022, Vatrano and the Ducks reached an agreement on a three-year, $10.95 million contract. with 81 games during his rookie season with Anaheim, he scored 22 goals and 41 points. Though he struggled with attacking consistency, he led the squad with 231 shots on goal and tied for second in goals scored. From November 3 to December 13, he participated in 20 games, registering 58 shots on goal and only five assists, all without scoring a goal.
