Tottenham outcast ‘second to nobody in Europe’ may become key man under Ange Postecoglou

The Greek-born boss has shot to the top of chairman Daniel Levy’s wish list, and reports indicate that he could be unveiled in north London as early as next week, with a fresh round of talks set for after Celtic’s forthcoming Scottish Cup final.

Although there is a feeling that Postecoglou to Spurs rumours could ramp up after Saturday’s final, the Celtic boss remained diplomatic when quizzed on the speculation this week. “Somebody else was favourite last week, weren’t they? So no, it doesn’t register,” he said.

“I get all the interest and why people love to speculate on these things. But we’ve worked really really hard to get ourselves in this position and for me to let my mind wander about anything else other than getting our team prepared for a big day on Saturday, it’s just not who I am.”
