Although the 26-year-old Frenchman was not a regular starter for the Italian club, he was an important member of Luciano Spaletti’s squad and he had an ‘exceptional season’. Napoli have the option to sign him permanently for a fee of around €30 million this summer but the player ‘wants’ to return to Tottenham as per Footmercato.

It seems that Ndombele is ready to get his Spurs career back on track and it remains to be seen whether the new manager is prepared to provide him with opportunities.

Spurs are currently managed by Ryan Mason and he is likely to be replaced by a permanent manager in the coming weeks.

Ndombele has the potential to be a key player for Tottenham in the coming seasons and he could end up saving the club millions in the transfer market as well. It will be interesting to see if he can get back to his best next season.

The midfielder was regarded as a world class prospect when he joined Tottenham but he never quite managed to impress on a consistent basis.

His time at Napoli last season will have given him the opportunity to regain some confidence and belief. It will be interesting to see if he can make the most of that in the coming seasons.
