Leeds United news with Mark Robins coy on the future of Leeds United-linked Gus Hamer

A round-up of the latest Leeds United headlines this evening

A look at the latest Leeds United headlines on Wednesday, July 26.

Mark Robins coy on the future of Leeds United-linked Gus Hamer

Coventry City boss Mark Robins says the future of Gus Hamer is in the players’ hands amid interest from Premier League clubs and Leeds United. Burnley and Fulham are said to be admirers of the Brazilian-born midfielder and the Whites are keen on bolstering their midfield options.

Hamer was among the standout performers for the Sky Blues as they reached the Championship play-off final and there’s a degree of uncertainty regarding his future. However, Robins said there have been no approaches from any clubs and he’d be happy if there isn’t any.

Robins told Coventry Live: “Nothing at all and I honestly don’t expect anything to happen. And I will be glad if it doesn’t.”

The City boss added he would “keep talking to him and working towards a solution for everybody; the best for everybody and hopefully that will be him staying.”

When asked again after Coventry’s clash with MK Dons on Tuesday night and whether he would sign a new contract, Robins said: “I have got nothing new to add on that or share with anybody. I think that will become clearer as we move forward, but that’s entirely down to Gus.”

Marc Roca addresses Leeds United future with Real Betis loan move admission

Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca says his agent is still in talks with the Whites to make his move to Real Betis a permanent one after joining the La Liga club on loan. The Spaniard’s move to the Benito Villamarin Stadium was in the pipeline for quite a while but finally came to fruition midway through July.

There had been suggestions Leeds and Betis had negotiated an option to make the move a permanent one. However, Roca claims his representatives are in talks with Leeds to make that move happen.

“I know that they have all made an effort for me to be here,” Roca told Marca. “I am very happy.

“I have had a very warm reception from my teammates, I am where I want to be. I promise work, commitment and effort to the maximum.”
