Leeds United team news as Sam Bryam starts for Daniel Farke against Nottingham Forest
Sam Byram starts for Leeds United this evening as the Whites take on Nottingham Forest at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton. The full-back has been training with Daniel Farke’s squad this summer as he looks to rebuild his fitness following his release from Norwich City.
After getting minutes against Monaco over the weekend, he will make a start for Leeds this evening in the left-back role and he’ll be keen to impress as he hunts for a contract for the new season. Luke Ayling gets another chance to nail down the right-back spot, but Cody Drameh is not involved at all.
Charlie Cresswell makes his first start of pre-season alongside Liam Cooper, while Ethan Ampadu gets another run out after joining the Whites last week from Chelsea. The Wales international looks set to partner Jamie Shackleton in the middle of the park, while Joe Gelhardt and Patrick Bamford pick up their first starts of pre-season up front.
Gelhardt looks set to feature in the number 10 role and he’ll be more than aware that the position is up for grabs if he can perform well. The same goes for Bamford, who will lead the line.
Crysencio Summerville misses out with a knock, while Georginio Rutter and Wilfried Gnonto are on the bench.
