Fabrizio Romano provides a late-night report on Sergio Reguilon to Tottenham and Manchester United fans.

Sergio Reguilon, a Tottenham Hotspur defender, is poised to join Manchester United on a season-long loan this morning.

The Red Devils suffered a major injury to Luke Shaw and will be without him for some time. Since then, they’ve been anxious for a successor, and Tottenham’s Reguilon has emerged as a top target.

Fabrizio Romano announced it late yesterday night.

Sergio Reguilon of Tottenham Hotspur will join Manchester United today, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Sergio Reguilon joined Tottenham from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020.

The ‘amazing’ Spaniard made a strong start in North London, but he dropped down the pecking order after Antonio Conte arrived.

Reguilon spent the entire last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, but his time there was disastrous, both on and off the field.

When Reguilon returned to Tottenham in the summer, it was evident that he didn’t have a future at the club, and now it appears like he’s going to leave, albeit on loan.

Reguilon’s medical was completed late yesterday night, and he will sign his Manchester United contract this morning, according to Romano.

“Sergio Reguilón will sign in as new Man United player in the morning, medical completed tonight as expected,” the journalist tweeted.

In a recent post, Romano disclosed that a condition in Reguilon’s loan agreement will allow Manchester United to return him to Tottenham in the January transfer window.

If that happens, it will be up to Spurs to decide whether to reintegrate him into the team or release him permanently, as he will have reached the final 18 months of his contract at the turn of the year.
