Chris Sutton predicts result of Everton Premier League clash v Sheffield United

Pundit Chris Sutton has predicted the result of the Premier League fixture between Everton and Sheffield United.

Sean Dyche and his players will travel to Bramall Lane to take on the newly-promoted club on Saturday (2 September).

Both sides are on zero points from their first three matches, with Everton below the Blades in the table due to their inferior goal difference.

Sutton predicted a 1-0 win for the visitors, telling BBC Sport: “Everton have improved.” They made their EFL Cup debut against Doncaster Rovers.

“They need a striker to start scoring in the Premier League because they haven’t done so yet.” They’ve generated plenty of chances at home, and I believe the 4-0 loss to Aston Villa was a game to forget.

“Sean Dyche needs to get off to a good start, and I believe he will get off to a good start with three points.”

A difficult test

Even with Sheffield United’s troubles thus far, Everton are in for a stiff test, with the crowd at Bramall Lane sure to support the home side.

The Blades have struggled since returning to the Premier League, losing 2-1 to Nottingham Forest, 1-0 to Manchester City, and 1-0 to Crystal Palace.

They have, however, found the back of the net in the league this season, something Everton is yet to do.

Furthermore, the hosts have a stronger defensive record than their opponents, giving them some confidence going into the game.

New Toffees addition Beto might make the difference on the day, with the striker already off to a good start for his new club after joining from Udinese, scoring in the 2-1 EFL Cup second round win over Doncaster on Wednesday (30 August).

In other Everton news, an update on Dominic Calvert-Lewin has come before of the match against Sheffield United.
