Medical done’: Tottenham finally ‘agree deal’ for Everton, West Ham and Chelsea target on deadline day

Tottenham have finally got their man after weeks of negotiations with Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham have finally agreed on a deal with Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson after a week of negotiation.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou made it clear he was the club’s first choice for the forward options and even though negotiations looked to have cooled, both teams agreed a fee of £47.5million for the Welsh forward with no add-ons.

The Lilywhites have money in the bank after the sale of Harry Kane but have been very careful about who to spend it on because of the long-term project they have at the club.

Wales international Johnson is set to become Spurs’ ninth summer signing with James Maddison the star signing from Leicester in a deal with around £ 40 million.

Forest academy graduate Johnson has scored 29 times and registered 12 assists across his 108 senior appearances.

Tottenham have won two and drawn one of their first three games of the season but suffered a blow when they lost on penalties to Fulham in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Elsewhere more players are expected to leave the club before the transfer window shuts with Hugo Lloris amongst players that could depart.

The former captain has expressed his desire to leave for a new challenge and Guglielmo Vicario has been brought in as his replacement.
