Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez of Tottenham Hotspur joined Galatasaray on Monday to bolster their roster.

The Turkish club revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Spurs’ French central midfielder Ndombele has joined Galatasaray on loan for the balance of the 2023-24 season, with the Istanbul club having a buy option, while his Spurs teammate, Sanchez, has moved to Galatasaray on a permanent basis.

 

Galatasaray claimed it can extend Ndombele’s contract for a price of €15 million ($16.1 million), and the Frenchman will earn €3.136 million in net compensation this season.

The Istanbul club is rumored to pay Sanchez €3.2 million per season.

Ndombele, 26, had ten goals in 91 games for Tottenham. He has also played for Olympique Lyon in France and Napoli in Italy, where he won the Italian Serie A title last season.

Sanchez, 27, formerly played for Dutch powerhouse Ajax before joining Tottenham in 2017. In 207 games for the London club, the Colombian international scored five goals.

He assisted Colombia’s Atletico Nacional in winning the Copa Libertadores, South America’s top club football event, in 2016.

The defending Turkish champions Galatasaray signed Argentine forward Mauro Icardi, Spanish left-back Angelino, Brazilian winger Tete, Ivorian winger Wilfried Zaha, and Moroccan attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech this summer to bolster their squad for the UEFA Champions League group stage, where they will face Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Copenhagen this autumn.
