As shocking Coventry City links emerge, Everton delivered a clear transfer message.
All the latest Coventry City news, including reactions from Everton fans to a likely deal for Viktor Gyokeres.
Everton fans have spoken out following reports of a possible transfer for Coventry City striker Viktor Gyökeres.

Frank Lampard’s side is anxious for reinforcements up front after Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury left the Toffees with only one recognized striker in the first-team roster, Salomon Rondon.

The selection problems caused by a lack of squad depth were highlighted last weekend, when the Venezuelan striker was suspended for the opening game against Chelsea, forcing inexperienced winger Anthony Gordon to start up front on his own. Everton will clearly look to invest in the position, and one of the names reported is Coventry striker Gyokeres.
According to the Swedish Championship podcast “Football’s Coming Home,” Gyokeres is in talks with Everton about joining Frank Lampard’s team just days after the season began.

Here’s what Everton fans have to say about the potential deal…

Jai Leach is a tall, powerful, and mobile man. He may be unplayable when he’s on it. It could do with being more clinical in front of goal, as he occasionally misses opportunities. He’s the type of striker Everton usually goes for, and he’s far superior to Rondon.

Stuart Brooks: Sure, I’ll take him.

Stephen Jacobson: A wise acquisition.

@liamthetoffee: Can he work in the prem?

@Michaelshoebobs: Sign me up if he’s as good as Broja.

@DaveyEfc: Get him for around $8 million… Get Gueye over the line and maybe Broja on loan with an option (no commitment) and you’ve got yourself a blinder.

@HarryBlackburn2: If this is true, it’s a very exciting signing!

Dylan Davies: He’s not good enough for us, in my opinion; we need better.
