Brennan Johnson shares what he was told by players before joining Tottenham
New Tottenham Hotspur signing Brennan Johnson has said that Wales teammate Ben Davies played a part in convincing him to join the club.
Speaking in an interview with Tottenham Hotspur, Johnson said that Davies told him very encouraging things about the club.
Everyone he met with agreed it was perfect timing for him to join Ange Postecoglou’s new era.
“I spoke to Ben, who said unbelievable things about the club and was really positive with me,” Johnson added.
“Everyone I’ve spoken to believes that now is the right time to join the club because it’s on the rise, so I’m really excited to come here now.”
Of course, the two players will now join up for Wales’ international duty during the break.
Aaron Ramsey, a Wales teammate, was not pleased to see Johnson join Spurs.
Ramsey was devastated to see Johnson join his old competitor, despite believing it was a fantastic decision for Johnson.
Nonetheless, seeing Johnson speak about the club’s renewed pull will undoubtedly be a huge plus for fans.
Davies gushed about Tottenham to Johnson Ange. Postecoglou’s new Tottenham team is packed of energy, imagination, and potential.
And the club’s excitement appears to have returned, which has been lacking for far too long.
Spurs fans will undoubtedly be counting down the days until their team returns to action after the break.
Tottenham’s next home game is against Sheffield United, and fans may certainly expect to see Johnson make his debut.
Johnson will finally get to see everything that people like Davies have promised about the new Tottenham.
And, while the majority of the attention is on the future, one major character from the past will remain for the time being.
Hugo Lloris was unable to find a new club this summer and will now remain at the club until January.
And he is said to be out of the sides’ Premier League squads, which are due to be presented next week.
“I have made this very clear” – Tottenham player speaks out after losing starting Spurs spot under Postecoglou
As Pierre-Emile Højbjerg today held a press conference with at Denmark’s national team campaign, he was asked to talk a little about his time at Tottenham Hotspur.
With only 156 minutes played for Spurs this season, he has clearly lost his place under Ange Postecoglou, and is still to start any Premier League matches with the new coach.
Quoted by Bold, Højbjerg didn’t have any problems talking about the situation, and claimed he shall continue to respect the Tottenham boss.
“I follow the path of the coach and the team, and fortunately there has been a good tone throughout, and as such there has been no problem from some of the sides,” said Højbjerg.
“Fortunately, there is a great understanding that the only thing that is important are the tasks that lie ahead for the team and the club.”
The player also highlighted the good communication there is between him and the coaching staff, and claims he’ll continue to work to recover his place in the team.
“There has been a good dialogue throughout, and there has been great respect for both parties. In the end, the most important thing, and I have made this very clear to the coach and the club, is that I have to show my best side and deserve what I get from playing time.”
“Right now I am not among the starting XI. It is what it is. I try to show my best side if the coach points to me.”
Likely to start for Denmark, Højbjerg is set to face San Marino and Finland in their upcoming games, both being very important challenges for their qualification to the Euro.
Once he returns to Tottenham, it will then be time to prepare for the match against Sheffield United on the 16th of September.
Spurs have had a great start in the league and that’s a new chance to potentially get a place on top of the table.
