‘I HAVE TO SHOW MY BEST’: £15M PLAYER NOW READY TO FIGHT FOR PLACE IN TOTTENHAM TEAM

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is determined to reclaim his place in the north London club’s starting lineup.

Spurs Transfer News: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg Set For Summer Exit
Ange Postecoglou is yet to start a Premier League game with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who was extensively linkedz with a move away from Tottenham during the summer transfer window.

However, the 28-year-old has informed Bold and the rest of the Danish media that he would try to prove why he is worthy of a place in Spurs’ starting XI.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will not give up.
“In the end, the most important thing, and I have made this very clear to the coach and the club, is that I have to show my best side and deserve what I get from playing time,” Hojbjerg stated of his present predicament at Tottenham.

“Right now, I’m not in the starting lineup.” That’s all there is to it. If the coach points to me, I try to show my best side.”

According to the Daily Mail, Hojbjerg rejected down a move to Fulham at the end of the last transfer window.

He joined Spurs from Southampton three years ago in a £15 million deal and was a regular for them last season, missing only three Premier League games.

However, the Dane is now relegated to the bench, with Postecoglou preferring Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr in midfield.

The attitude of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is hardly surprising.
It’s scarcely surprising that Hojbjerg isn’t moping about and is instead getting on with things. He’s always had the appropriate mindset.

The former Southampton captain is definitely an example, and his former manager Jose Mourinho has already lauded his leadership qualities.

“He’s a captain without needing to wear the armband,” the AS Roma manager was quoted as stating back in 2020 by The Athletic.

Finally, the aforementioned reasons are why Hojbjerg can still be a valuable asset to Tottenham. Postecoglou may as well use the midfielder while he still has him.

And, in the 58-year-old’s defense, he has been, with Hojbjerg appearing in three of Tottenham’s four Premier League games this season. However, none of those appearances were starts, and you have a feeling that Hojbjerg will want more than cameos in the future.
