‘In Garner, we trust,’ say Bristol Rovers fans as Jonah Ayunga becomes the club’s latest acquisition.
The striker is Bristol Rovers’ fifth addition of the summer, as the club’s active transfer window continues.

Bristol Rovers’ summer spending spree has continued with the signing of Havant and Waterlooville forward Jonah Ayunga.

Fans are still enthused about the club’s transfer dealings, and with a striker obviously on the club’s shopping list this summer, many are looking forward to seeing Ayunga team up with Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Ayunga arrives from the non-league side on a two-year agreement for an undisclosed amount, and Ben Garner said the club had been keeping an eye on him for some time.

“Given the season he has just had, there was interest from a number of EFL clubs, and we are very pleased that we have managed to agree a deal that will see Jonah play here at Rovers,” added the Gas boss.

“He’s another player we’ve looked at extensively over time, and we believe the qualities he brings will complement the squad we’re assembling.”

He was the National League South’s joint top scorer this season with 17 goals and provides a new alternative up front for current forwards Clarke-Harris and James Daly.

Ayunga is the fifth signing to come through the Mem’s doors, joining Josh Grant, Jack Baldwin, Max Ehmer, and Sam Nicholson.
Ben Garner is still assembling a squad to play his brand of football, and fans can only see the club moving in one direction under the Gas manager.

Daniel Sheppard: Yet another young man who meets the qualifications for garner! Hello, Jonah!

Dave: Yet another potentially fantastic signing!

Matt Grunham: Championship on the way.

Will Dubey: I really like this move. I saw him have a couple of unplayable performances for Sutton a few years back. I’m only 23 years old. There is a lot of upside.

Glen Blackmore (guitarist): I believe he might be a great signing! Jonah, welcome to BRFC!

John Ashdown: This appears to be an intriguing prospect for the Gas.

Dunlop, Adam: We appear to be forming a group! Jonah, welcome to the Gas.

Gashead in Oxfordshire: We’re pleased with this; we’re thrilled it appears we have a plan for him and his development, and we’ve had a solid track record of taking strikers up through the leagues; we just need to make sure we maintain JCH and the contract is signed.

Elliot Owens: Perhaps the next Ellington, White, and so on.

Marsh, B: Welcome, Jonah; you’ve joined a wonderful team; just give it your all and the supporters will be right there with you.

Nick Turner: I can’t wait to see you and JCH shred it up.

Southgate, Simon: I’m getting tired of all these high-quality signings so early in the season…. Congratulations, BRFC.

Regan, Jake: Quality signing; the kid is a great act; he is truly unique! He’ll dance past people and smack them in the face for fun…he’ll be the next Che Adams.

Mr. Fred Stokes: I’m pleased with this, and I believe that if we give him enough games, he’ll bang in goals for joy. We have faith in Garner.
