Tottenham are considering a £50million move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, according to reports.
The 23-year-old was one of the stars of the Bundesliga before United splashed out £73m to secure his services in the summer of 2021.
However,he has so far failed to live up to that price tag having struggled with form and consistency under three different managers.
The England international missed early parts of the season after he chose to take a break from football after concerns arising over his wellbeing.
His inconsistency continued after returning to action in February and According to the Daily Star, Tottenham are interested in bringing Sancho to north London in their attempts to rebuild under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keen to bring him back to Signal Iduna Park but only only in a loan deal.
This would however not suit United as they are keen to raise cash to invest in the team with a takeover still not close to completion.
Sancho’s footballing journey started at Watford, before moving to Manchester City’s youth set up in 2014.
Dazzling scouts with his excellent skill and goal scoring abilities, Sancho would earn himself a move to Borussia Dortmund in 2017, where he would go on to return an impressive 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games.
But he has managed just 12 goals and six assists in 79 appearances in two seasons since moving to United and could be a number of player who will be moved on this summer.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are poised to step up their interest in James Maddison after appointing Postecoglou.
Leicester valued Maddison at about £60m when they rejected offers from Newcastle but now they are in the second tier and with only a year remaining on Maddison’s contract, they are unlikely to generate that fee.
