After being sold by Everton this summer, the 19-year-old has just scored his first senior international goal.
On Thursday night, Northern Ireland’s Isaac Price scored his first international goal.
Only seven minutes into their EURO Qualifier against Slovenia, the former Everton midfielder equalized.
Northern Ireland needed something from their journey to Ljubljana in order to qualify for the Euro 2024 competition, and Price’s early goal gave them hope.
The 19-year-old only made his international debut in March, but he has started their past three qualifiers, returning Michael O’Neill’s faith with a tap-in to record his first international goal.
Price appeared ecstatic as he celebrated with his colleagues, driving fans into fits as their dreams remained alive.
However, Price was unable to prevent defeat, as Northern Ireland were eventually defeated 4-2, therefore ending their prospects of qualifying.
The teenager’s goal comes just months after he left Everton’s academy, where he spent 13 years.
Price made his Premier League debut in May 2022, and the Toffees were anxious to keep him with a new deal, but he instead chose to accept a four-year contract with Standard Liege and leave Merseyside.
Isaac Price is getting some attention from his former Everton colleagues.
Despite switching from England to Belgium, Price received a lot of affection from his former Everton colleagues after scoring against Slovenia.
Price’s celebrations were documented on Instagram by Frances Okoronkwo, who used the hashtag ‘Priceyyyy’ alongside two heart eye emojis. Katia Kouyate also shared his own Instagram story with the caption “Some boi.”
Price celebrated his accomplishment by posting both stories to his Instagram. After making six appearances in the Belgian Pro League this season, the midfielder will return to Liege next week.
