‘Absolutely not: Expert admits Wolves have made a signing which has really shocked him

Eyebrows were raised in the final week of the window when Wolves announced their latest acquisition.

18-year-old Enso Gonzalez was the player who arrived for a fee of £5million from Club Libertad.

A surprising move which was clearly one for the future, but the fact he was an unused substitute against Crystal Palace could suggest he is viewed as a first-teamer.

Despite the fact that it is a multi-million-pound move, little is known about his abilities and what he could contribute to Molineux.

Gary O’Neil’s team needs someone to provide them a wide option; might the clever adolescent be that guy?

Shropshire Star enlisted the assistance of Paraguayan football specialist Roberto Rojas to throw some light on his abilities.

Enso is undeniably gifted, but Rojas confessed he was astonished when the transfer was approved.

When asked if he expected such a deal, he replied, “No, absolutely not.” He had talent, but I didn’t anticipate him to make that leap so quickly and become one of only a few Paraguayan players to play in English football.”

“It’s not a jump that most Paraguayan players tend to do because they usually go to Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and the United States before trying it out in Europe,” he continued, “but it shows that Wolves are taking a chance on him as someone they clearly rated highly.”

Rojas was then asked if Enso will be able to handle the increased competition.

He began, “It’s going to be a huge challenge for him.”

“He seems very keen about the opportunity and honoured to play for a club like Wolverhampton Wanderers and achieving the dream of playing in the Premier League,” he continued, “so he will take every advantage he gets to impress his team-mates and Gary O’Neil.”

Is Enso comparable to Enciso?
We’re all hoping Enso is carved from the same cloth as Brighton’s young Paraguayan, Julio Enciso.

Last season, Enciso dominated the Premier League, but Rojas believes the two are not comparable.

“They’re very similar in terms of size and potential, but he plays more like Miguel Almiron.”

He also stated that while Enciso has more natural potential than Enso, Wolves’ new addition is more mature and composed on the field than the erratic Enciso.
