‘We saw’: Dimitar Berbatov predicts Wolves or Brighton to win on Saturday.
Wolves defied all expectations on Monday, coming agonizingly close to a victory at Old Trafford.
The performance, however, should be enough to keep spirits high ahead of another big game this weekend.
Wolves host Brighton to the Molineux, who defeated Luton Town 4-1 in their first game.
Following a great season under Roberto De Zerbi, this Brighton team is also primed for Europa League participation this year.
We all know Saturday will be a difficult game, and legendary striker Dimitar Berbatov has forecast a difficult afternoon for Old Gold.
Berbatov believes Wolves will beat Brighton.
Berbatov, who is now retired, is a Premier League commentator and has made predictions for this weekend’s action.
On the 3pm kick-off between Wolves and Brighton, he isn’t optimistic about Gary O’Neil’s chances.
“We saw how well Wolves played against Man United,” he said on Metro, “but we know what Brighton can do on their day.”
“I really enjoy watching Brighton play; they work really hard and are very effective,” he added. “I’m going with Brighton to win this one.”
Finally, he predicted that when the final whistle blows, the score will be 2-1 in favor of Brighton.
The career of Dimitar Berbatov against Wolves
Berbatov is regarded as a Premier League great, having made 229 appearances in the division.
During this span, he scored 94 goals and provided 47 assists for Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United.
Despite this, he never scored against Wolves in three games against them.
He did have an assist but no goals, which could explain why he doesn’t expect the Wolves to win on Saturday.
