Yves Bissouma of Tottenham Hotspur has been cleared of sexual assault charges.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has been discharged with no further action following sexual assault claims.
The 25-year-old, who joined North London from Brighton & Hove Albion in a £35 million transfer earlier this summer, was stopped outside a Brighton nightclub last October alongside another guy.
Bissouma was freed under investigation and allowed to continue representing Brighton while Sussex Police investigated, and he was allowed to compete for Mali in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Tottenham did not comment publicly on the subject following Bissouma’s arrival, but the midfielder has already been exonerated of the allegations, while the other guy in his 40s is still being investigated.
“A man in his 40s from Brighton who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has had his conditional bail extended until July 4, 2022,” Sussex Police said in a statement to the Daily Mail.
“A man in his twenties from Brighton who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has been released with no further action.” The inquiry is still underway, and no other details are available at this time.”
Bissouma, who joined Hotspur Way with Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic in the current transfer window, has six goals and three assists in 124 games for Brighton during a four-year period.
