Ben Simmons was declared ineligible for the Phoenix Suns game following his impressive NBA comeback.
A left knee injury will prevent Ben Simmons from playing against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, putting an end to his NBA comeback.

Although the three-time All-Star stumbled badly after a block on what ended up being his last play in a successful return against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, the Nets had originally placed Simmons as probable for the contest.

After the victory, Simmons downplayed the seriousness of the event, saying reporters it was only a “little awkward fall” and that he felt “good.”

Simmons experienced knee swelling following the hit, which caused him to be downgraded to questionable early on Thursday morning [AEDT] and eventually ruled out.

Prior to the Suns game, Nets coach Jacque Vaughn acknowledged that Simmons had hurt himself late in the fourth quarter on the blocked shot, but an MRI revealed no structural damage.

Vaughn stated that Simmons will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis for the time being and that the team will now have to wait for the swelling in his knee to subside.

In his 18 minutes of action during his comeback game against the Jazz, the Australian scored 10 points, dished out 11 assists, pulled down eight rebounds, stole a basket, and blocked a shot.
It was eventually determined that Simmons’ lower left back nerve impingement was the cause of his 38 game absence this season.

The 26-year-old experienced problems with the same knee last season as well. To cope with the problem, he had fluid removed from it and received injections of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in February and November of the same year.

“Every day, morning and night, I’m striving to get back on the floor. That isn’t available online. That is not visible to you. It’s wonderful to see that pay off for me and everyone who has witnessed my discipline over the past two months.
