Leeds United could miss out on Nat Phillips with Feyenoord now chasing a deal for the Liverpool central defender.

Feyenoord have joined Leeds United in the race to sign Liverpool top-class defender this summer.

That is according to The Athletic, who claim that Feyenoord are keen admirers of the Liverpool centre back.

It’s stated that Feyenoord have yet to open talks to sign Phillips but the move may well appeal to him.

Feyenoord won the Eredivisie title last season and will have Champions League on offer at De Kuip.

That may well tempt Phillips and there would be a prospect of first-team football in Rotterdam.

Feyenoord’s right-sided defender Gernot Trauner is now 31 and only started 18 Eredivisie games last season with injuries a concern.

Lutsharel Geertruida filled in at times but RB Leipzig are chasing his signature, potentially leaving Feyenoord short at the back.

Phillips could come in to help Arne Slot’s side but Feyenoord will face a battle with Leeds United…

Leeds United could miss out on Nat Phillips

Leeds have finally confirmed the arrival of Daniel Farke as the club’s new manager.

The Whites will now look to get their summer transfer business up and running with Phillips a prime target.

The Athletic reported last week that Leeds are interested in snapping up Phillips in a £10million deal.

Leeds are looking to bolster their back line and the no-nonsense Phillips could be an outstanding addition.

Athletic report highlighted that Farke wanted the Liverpool man at Norwich, meaning he may well be on board with a Leeds attempt this summer.

Leeds are back in the Championship now though and beating Champions League competition won’t be easy.

Maybe Farke’s long-standing interest can help tempt Phillips to Elland Road, but Leeds’ pursuit has just got harder.
