Following an unsuccessful exit, a Tottenham star’s contract is up for termination; the likely next club is named.

Hugo Lloris, a veteran for Tottenham, faces the prospect of having his contract terminated, and it has been made known where he would likely sign if he were to become a free agent.

Lloris, 36, has been a player for Tottenham for at least 11 years. Despite a noticeable decline in recent years, the France veteran has no plans to hang up his gloves just yet.

Guglielmo Vicario was duly acquired by Spurs from Empoli this summer in order to provide a safer pair of hands. The $17.2 million acquisition has been a seamless addition to Ange Postecoglou’s starting lineup, receiving the start in each of Spurs’ first three Premier League games.

Fraser Forster, though, has served as a backup player off the bench and in the EFL Cup.

To enable Lloris to finish a summer trade away, that was done. The seasoned goalkeeper already acknowledged that it is time to take on a new challenge.

Nevertheless, the transfer deadline passed without Lloris signing with a new team despite links to Lazio, Nice, and even Newcastle.

Tottenham could now terminate Lloris’ contract, making him a free agent, according to Football Insider. Outside of the regular transfer periods, free agents can be signed at any time.

According to FI’s sources, Tottenham may terminate Hugo Lloris’ contract if they are unable to complete a transfer.

There seems to be one club that stands out above the rest in terms of where he might end up.

Waiting for an emotional homecoming home?
Before yesterday’s transfer deadline, French club Nice did in fact make a contract offer to Lloris. The Telegraph reported the development, although it is clear that no final agreement was reached.

But the fact that Nice did submit a formal offer to the player shows that their interest in him is at least real.

Lloris also calls Nice home, and from 1997 to 2008, he played for the club for 11 years.

Kasper Schmeichel’s contract with Nice was recently canceled, another indication that he may return to France.

On Friday, the club released the following statement: “OGC Nice and Kasper Schmeichel have decided to mutually terminate the Danish international’s contract.

But the fact that Nice did submit a formal offer to the player shows that their interest in him is at least real.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper joined the club in Nice last summer and appeared in 46 matches across all competitions.

The club sends him best wishes for the remainder of his career.
