‘HIGHLY UNLIKELY’: JOURNALIST HAS REALLY BAD NEWS FOR TOTTENHAM FANS
According to journalist Miguel Delaney in the Reading The Game newsletter in The Independent (2:12 pm, March 10, 2023), it is now “highly unlikely” that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will sign a new contract.
Delaney has written that due to current uncertainty over the future of Antonio Conte as the Spurs head coach, star striker Kane may not put pen to paper on a new deal.
Kane is out of contract at Tottenham in the summer of 2024.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been linked with the 29-year-old striker.
Bad Harry Kane news for Tottenham Hotspur fans
Delaney wrote: “Harry Kane, meanwhile, is giving even more mind to his future. At present, it is highly unlikely he will sign a new deal, but that is naturally influenced by the immediate emotional aftermath of such an elimination.”
Staying positive
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur fans should not get worried about Harry Kane just yet.
You can understand why the 29-year-old would be reluctant to put pen to paper on a new deal right now.
After all, Tottenham have just been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League.
Spurs may not end up in the top four of the Premier League table this season either.
So, it would make sense for Kane to wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future.
Remember, Kane has been on the books of Tottenham his entire professional club football career so far.
He could well decide in due time to commit his long-term future to Spurs.
